Located in the northeast quadrant of the Houston metropolitan area, just 21 miles from downtown on Highway 59, the greater Lake Houston Area includes Atascocita, the City of Humble, Kingwood and Spring, all of which are currently experiencing robust population and economic growth.
Encompassing nearly 100 square miles of land in northeast Harris County, the area is largely forested. Due to its natural beauty, the recreation of Lake Houston and the San Jacinto River, the proximity of Bush Intercontinental Airport and the Port of Houston, and the quality of its many subdivisions, the area has proven to be a strong attraction to newcomers.
With the completion of interstate upgrading on Highway 59, local growth has been facilitated by the reasonable commute to the huge job base in downtown Houston. Additionally, robust commercial growth in the area has created thousands of jobs locally.
